Tabex privacy policy
Tabex is a local browser workbench developed by SHPIT LLC. The extension connects only to the Tabex companion runtime on your computer. SHPIT LLC does not operate a service that receives or sells your browsing data.
Data Tabex can handle
After you affirmatively acknowledge the in-product disclosure, Tabex can control pre-existing tabs that you or your agent explicitly enable. A tab created by an explicit Tabex request is controlled as part of that request. On a controlled tab, Tabex can read and change the page, run JavaScript you or your agent explicitly request, take screenshots, and capture raw network requests and responses. This can include URLs, page text, form values, headers, cookies, credentials, and request or response bodies visible to the enabled tab. Tabex also stores extension identity, connection, tab-group, and capture metadata needed to provide the workbench.
Use, storage, and sharing
The data is used only to perform requested browser actions, show results, maintain the local connection, and preserve captures you request. It stays in your browser profile and local Tabex runtime files unless you or software acting at your direction exports or shares it. Tabex does not use browsing data for advertising, profiling, credit decisions, or sale.
The use of information received from Chrome APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Retention and control
Local connection metadata remains until you remove the extension or Tabex state. Captures and
exports remain until you delete their local files. You can disable a tab at any time, remove
Tabex from Chrome, unregister the native host with tabex browser native-host unregister, and delete local Tabex state.
Native messaging and security
The native messaging host accepts only the Store-assigned Tabex extension origin. It supplies one-time enrollment authentication proofs to the local runtime; it never sends the durable install secret to the extension. Browser control continues over the local Tabex WebSocket connection.
